Needlework
and Lace
These books provide
instruction on the many aspects of embroidery, including stump work, white
work, black work, and samplers. Some are earlier antiquarian titles and
others modern and mainly out of print. I also have books on knitting,
crochet, quilting and patchwork. Those in stock on lace and tatting are
mainly devoted to the historical aspects of lace making from the important
lace making centres.
A few books have instructions
in needle and bobbin lace, while some are scarce, earlier titles. All
other books on historical and ethnic needlework, samplers, etc. will be
found in the Textile section. Books on tailoring and dressmaking are in
the Costume section.
