Some books and magazines
in this section are antiquarian and others are modern appraisals of fashions
from antiquity to the present. There are books on grand clothes and couturiers,
working clothes for many occupations, outfits for children, clothes for
special occasions and for every day. There are books on accessories from
shoes to hats, socks and stockings, handbags, umbrellas and parasols and
scarves.
I always have costume
books from around the world, from Europe to the Far East, China, Russia
and Japan. I also stock a few books on ecclesiastical dress. Bibliographies
by Colas, Hiler and Lipperheider are regularly available.
